Lilac Festival Getaway
Lilac Festival is the first and largest summer event on Mackinac Island, celebrating the historic varieties of lilacs many of which were brought to Mackinac Island during the Colonial era. The Festival includes the coronation of the Lilac Festival Queen and Court, Lilac Festival 10k Road Race, Horse Drawn Carriage Tours, concerts, sailing tours, boat cruises, A Taste of Mackinac Culinary Event, the Mackinac Island Dog and Pony Show and the Lilac Festival Grande Parade.

Fudge Festival Getaway
While fudge was not invented on Mackinac Island, Mackinac Island’s fudge has become the most popular fudge in America. In the nineteenth century, maple sugar sweets were manufactured by the local Odawa in nearby L’Arbor Croche, packaged in birchbark containers called mokuks and shipped from Mackinac Island in steamships touring the Great Lakes to the confectioners in the big cities of America. Tourists wanted something regional; something made on Mackinac rather than something they could easily buy at home. Harry Murdick listened and in the late 1880s opened Murdick’s Candy Kitchen. Using marble slabs with the kitchen cooling fans blowing the smell of cooking candy onto the streets, Harry’s sons Rome and Gould turned fudge making into a wonderfully scented spectator sport.
There are over fifteen fudge stores on Mackinac Island today and it is now an Island institution that is now known worldwide. Join us August 22-23, 2014 for the Mackinac Island Fudge Festival. The Festival features many exciting events including fudge-ilicious craft cocktails created at island bars and restaurants, Market Street Gallery Walk and Meet and Greet, and the golden ticket contest at select fudge shops.

The Beer Festival is getaway is available for one night stays from August 10-11, 2014. For additional nights please book our Best Available Rate of the day. Base rate quoted on single and double occupancy, for additional adults and children over the age of 13 a charge of $25 per person per night will apply.

Quoted prices are based on single or double occupancy and on the lowest room category on the selected dates. For additional adults or children over 13 years old a $25 per person per night charge will apply. For upgraded guest rooms additional charges apply and will display based on selected room type. Most packages require a two night stay, and have a maximum of two nights. For additional nights please book our best available rate of the day. Wawashkamo Golf Package is one night package and is charged per golfer.
All rates are subject to applicable taxes and resort levy which totals 18%. Baggage fees are also not included at $6.00 per person plus tax. Number of packages are subject to available and dates may close at anytime. Advance reservations are required and no refunds will be given on unused portions. Packages are not available in conjunction with other discounts, group bookings or during special events. Deposit of 50% of the total stay price requirred at the time of booking for each room reservation. Reservations may be canceled 14 days prior to arrival for full refund of deposit amount. Management reserves all rights. All reservations are also subject to our standard Booking Policies.
