Sara Faircloth, Sales Manager

Sara Faircloth manages the Corporate market for Mission Point Resort. Sara came to the resort as Sales Manager in November 2011. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, majoring in Hospitality. Sara loves all things hospitality and as a result worked in many different areas. She found that sales is the perfect fit for her as she is able to meet new people and experience something new and different every day.

Having the opportunity to sell this beautiful and unique property and destination that she grew up near is very special to her. Sara says, “There is nothing more serene than looking out over Lake Michigan and watching the sunset, Mission Point is the perfect place to do just that.” Sara was married on 11.11.11 to Nic. They enjoy playing with their dog Charlie, a Morkie, and running races in the summer months. Sara is a member of MPI Ohio and MPI Michigan as well as SGMP Michigan. She has the goal of earning her CMP in the next few years. Sara has a reputation for being the “go-to girl” among family and friends for fashion. E! News and Cold Stone Creamery are her guilty pleasures! We are excited to welcome Sara to the team!

Debbie Denyer, Sales Manager

Debbie is responsible for selling the resort to groups who have a need and interest in destination meetings. Her target market is primarily the association markets. For over ten years, she has been building relationships with clients by communicating openly and honestly with over two and a half of those years at Mission Point Resort.

Debbie thinks she was either a fish or a duck in a past life because she absolutely loves the water! There is nothing more beautiful & peaceful than looking out at the water. Being able to work for Mission Point allows her to enjoy the beauty & peace while sharing it with others.

Daily she also finds herself thinking about how lucky she is to have found a wonderful husband, who has given her the experience of motherhood to her beautiful baby girl, Ellen.  She also loves her two black labs who bring entertainment and activity into her house. She also enjoys yoga and meditation.

Nicole Nation, CMP, Sales Manager

In January 2012, Mission Point resort welcomed back Nicole Nation! Nicole worked for Mission Point Resort from 2002 to 2006 managing the corporate market. Currently, Nicole is responsible for our SMERF market managing the social, military, education, religious and fraternal accounts including school groups, church groups and reunions.

Nicole’s hospitality experience includes an internship at Disney World where she helped to open the Grand Floridian and worked at the Front Desk of Fort Wilderness. Most recently, Nicole managed the education, transient and SMERF accounts at the Athenium Suite Hotel and Conference Center, a luxury hotel property in downtown Detroit. Nicole is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) with a real estate license and a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality from Ferris State.

Nicole is very family-oriented, enjoying time with her twelve-year old daughter and her large extended family. Nicole and her husband also spend time watching her daughter play basketball and baseball. Nicole's pastimes include bowling on a league and traveling Michigan's west side.

"The team work is demonstrated every day and makes me feel like I am part of something special.”About Mackinac Island and Mission Point Resort Nicole says, “One of the prettiest sites I have ever seen was facing the water at Mission Point in January. There was a full moon and the sky was bright midnight blue. I could see large ice drifting in the water and the snow drifts on land were probably twelve feet in some areas. As I looked out to take in all this wonder a part of this beauty stayed with me and keeps me excited to play a role in helping other people to have their own breathtaking moments and making their own memories at the resort. I love Mackinac Island."

Danielle Fergus, Wedding Sales Manager

Danielle is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Business. Prior to joining the team as Wedding Sales Manager at Mission Point Resort, Danielle has enjoyed a number of roles in the hospitality industry. She interned at Disney’s Sci-Fi Restaurant in Orlando, served as Front Desk Associate at the Residence Inn by Marriott in East Lansing and worked at the Lansing-based Michigan Society of Association Executives as an Event Planning Intern. Danielle was the Media and Marketing Manager for Mission Point Resort, then served as SMERF Sales Manager at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Auburn Hills, Michigan, selling to the social, military, education, religious and family markets before returning to the resort.

Danielle is a newlywed, married in October 2010. In her free time, Danielle enjoys outdoor activities, horseback riding and spending time with her family—husband Kyle and puppies Teddy and Myles.

When asked why she returned to Mission Point Resort, Danielle said, “Mackinac Island is such a magical place, it really takes you back to a simpler time. Behind the hustle and bustle of downtown the island is so serene and relaxing. The ambiance of Mission Point Resort further extends those feelings with its timeless charm. My husband and I lived at the resort for a year—it holds a special place in my heart.”

Michael Price, Associate Director of Sales
Michael Price is responsible for the Social, Military, Lower Education and Fraternal Markets for Mission Point Resort.

Michael has been with Mission Point since 2008.  Prior to joining Mission Point, he was a national sales manager for a golf resort in northern Indiana and an account manager for a conference resort in Southern California.

The thing he loves most about his role with Mission Point Resort is being an integral part of special occasions for families.  He takes pleasure in guiding the client through the sometimes overwhelming process of planning a family reunion or other event so that when it all comes together seamlessly they are amazed on how easy it can be. In short, he really likes making the person who plans the event look good!

Michael has also been a member of the National Guard for 15 years. Michael was deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in December 2011. He will be gone for the 2012 season. Mission Point Resort is proud of Michael as he serves our country!

Sherry Cummins, CMP, CMM, Sales Office Manager

Sherry is the Sales Office Manager at the Mission Point Resort sales office in Berkley, Michigan. She joined Mission Point Resort as a coordinator in March of 2011.

Prior to joining the sales team at Mission Point, she began formally planning meetings and events in 1994 working for Comerica Bank, Lowry Computer Products, Nematron and Con-way Freight. Sherry was appointed the first event manager at Con-way Inc. in 2007, creating the role and bringing strategic meetings management to the organization. Her hospitality experience includes planning and execution of board retreats, NASCAR events, the ATA’s National Truck Driving Championships, incentive travel, recognition and training events and award galas.

Sherry earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resources from Concordia University. Sherry is President of the Meeting Professionals International Michigan Chapter. She is a blogger and published author/speaker with an affection for words. Sherry’s greatest joy is spending time with her significant other Brad, her grown children and family, in particular her two grandsons and her granddaughter. Watching her grandsons play baseball and her granddaughter dance makes Sherry young again! She claims to be a gypsy with a love of travel, music and dance.
