Mission Point Resort has been a Proven Winners' Signature Garden since 2019. Meticulously maintained by our hard-working grounds team, Mission Point's grounds and gardens have become a spectacle like none other on Mackinac Island, including our iconic Great Lawn and Adirondack chairs. Each garden space across our 18 acres is thoughtfully curated and designed, telling an extraordinary story in each season. The grounds at MPR are open to the public so we invite you to come by and see our pride for Mackinac Island radiating in each bloom.

Plus Mackinac Island has some of the world's best fertilizer!

What's in Bloom?

The first blooms to pop out in the spring are the daffodils, hyacinths and of course, tulips. You'll find that tulips are the focal point of Mission Point's spring gardens. Tulips are hardy and do well in northern Michigan's spring weather, which can range from warm and sunny to chilly and rainy. If you're visiting Mission Point Resort in early June, ask about taking some tulip bulbs home with you! Each year, our Grounds Team pulls the tulip bulbs to plant annuals, and our guest are welcome to take some bulbs home! Plant a piece of Mackinac in your home garden!

Fresh flowers can be found in abundance at the Mission Point Cutting Garden. Featuring locally-grown blooms, this garden is where many of our bouquets are grown, envisioned and curated. Keep an eye out during your visit for vases in the lobby!

Our Night Garden was created in 2019 in memory of Suzanne Ware, beloved wife, mother, friend, gardener and managing partner of Mission Point Resort. This small slice of peace inspires all who visit, bringing Suzanne's infectious energy and spirit to light with illuminating tulips.
