It's easier than you think to get to Mackinac Island - just board the ferry and you're on your way. Once on the island, you may take a taxi, ride on the Mackinac Island Carriage Tours shuttle servicing Mission Point, or enjoy the short 15-minute walk.

Please keep in mind that the Taxi Shuttle Service is $8.50 per adult and drivers can only accept cash; the horses take a break from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm and Shuttle Service is not available during this time. Shuttle pricing may change at the discretion of Mackinac Island Carriage Tours.

Transportation
By Air

Fresh Air Aviation offers air passenger service to Mackinac Island, departing from the Mackinac County Airport in St. Ignace. A taxi to Mission Point can be arranged to meet you at the airport on Mackinac Island. If you're flying into the area, we recommend Pellston Regional Airport (PLN), the closest and most convenient to Mackinaw City, which offers daily nonstop service through Detroit on Delta Airlines.

By Ferry

The most common way to travel to Mackinac Island is by ferry. We recommend Shepler's Mackinac Ferry, which offers departures from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace on the mainland. Guests are also welcome to take Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry, departing from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace as well. Our baggage handling fee covers transporting your luggage from the dock directly to your room. 

Getting Around
By Shuttle

Once on the island, the easiest way to get to Mission Point Resort is to ride on the Mackinac Island Carriage Tours shuttle servicing Mission Point. Please keep in mind that the Taxi Shuttle Service is $8.50 per adult; drivers are able to accept cash only. Getting Around
By Taxi

Horse-drawn taxi service is provided by Mackinac Island Carriage Tours 24 hours a day during the summer season. Taxi cabs cannot be "hailed" on Mackinac Island; reservations can be made by calling the taxi dispatch office at (906) 847-3323. Taxi drivers are able to accept cash only. ATMs are available in the Main Lodge lobby, at the taxi stand downtown and at the island banks.
