As the only dog-friendly resort on Mackinac Island, we understand how important it is to be able to bring the whole family on vacation – including your dogs. Our dog-friendly rooms feature amenities to welcome you and your family, and up to two dogs, to Mackinac Island.

All dog-friendly guest rooms are located in our Straits Lodge, which is about a five-minute walk from check-in at the Main Lodge.

Pooch at the Point

Bring the entire family along on vacation this season with our Pooch at the Point package. Mission Point is a great place for everyone to relax and unwind by the lake, especially your furry, four-legged friends.

Package Includes:

  • Accommodations
  • $25.00 daily food & beverage credit per adult and teen age 13-17 to be used at any Mission Point restaurant; children 12 and under eat free from our children's menu
  • Pet fee of $100.00
  • Welcome amenity for your pet
  • Admission to the Richard & Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum (subject to seasonal availability per Mackinac State Historic Parks)
  • Round trip ferry tickets on Shepler's
  • Luggage transfer and handling fees to and from the resort

Package requires a two-night minimum stay and is subject to availability of a limited selection of pet-friendly rooms. Package inclusions are for the number of adults and children stated on the reservation. Please note that there are no refunds on unused portions of the package. All stays are subject to 6% Michigan Sales Tax, 10% Resort Levy Fee, and 3% Mackinac Island Assessment Fee.

Mission Point ResortDog Policy

Mission Point welcomes all well-mannered dogs with a limit of two dogs per room. Guests are required to pay a one-time nonrefundable deep cleaning fee of $100.00 per guest room for a dog's stay. Mission Point reserves the right to immediately remove any dog that displays dangerous or unacceptable behavior including, but not limited to, biting, barking, or excessive noise. All dogs are to be accompanied by their owner at all times and are not to be left in guest rooms alone. If the dog is disturbing other guests/staff or causing damage, the dog will be removed by hotel security officers. Do you allow dogs?

Mission Point loves dogs - of course! There are a number of rooms in the Straits Lodge which are dog friendly. We do require that all dogs are arranged in advance by calling (800) 833-7711. A one-time, non-refundable dog cleaning fee of $100.00 is charged.

Are dogs are allowed on the ferries?

Yes – leashed pets are welcome to ride with you on both Shepler’s and Star Line ferries. For specific questions about how to get your pet to the island, please contact the ferry company.

Can my dog(s) dine with us in your on-site restaurants?

Service dogs are permitted in our restaurants. Special accommodations are possible during inclement weather as well; arrangements can be made with the Concierge or Restaurant Host during your stay.

Are there any specific pet-related rules that I should be aware of?

Yes, please give us a call for details about our pet policy at (906) 847-3000. Mission Point welcomes all well-mannered dogs and reserves the right to require immediate removal of any pet that displays dangerous or unacceptable behavior. If your pet is disturbing other guests/staff or causing damage, the pet will be removed by hotel security officers.

What dog-friendly amenities can be found in my room?

In pet friendly rooms, custom Mission Point dog beds made by Carhartt can be found in the closet. Dog waste bags are located at the west end of the Straits Lodge and near the Great Lawn.

Gift Shop Information

Treats, water bowls, frisbees, collars, leashes, pet soaps and other various items are available for purchase at the Mission Point Marketplace shops.
