What is the best way to get to Mackinac Island?

There are two ways to get to Mackinac Island - by air or by water.  

How does the Ferry Service to the Island work?

We recommend , but you may choose any of the ferry lines. Before you cross the water to the island, you will be asked which hotel you are staying at while on the island.  Your luggage will be tagged and transferred directly to Mission Point. Upon check in, you will present your luggage tags to the front desk. This will insure that your luggage gets to the correct room.

How do I get to the resort once I have arrived on the Island?

A hotel shuttle operated by Carriage Tours runs on a set schedule for guests once they arrive on the island. In addition, you are free to explore downtown and take a taxi at your leisure from wherever you may be. The short 10 minute walk from Shepler's ferry dock to Mission Point Resort is a real treat because you will pass by the Fort, marina, and beautiful residential areas. You will get a feel for life on Mackinac Island.

Is Mission Point in town?

Yes! Mission Point sits on 18 acres of property on the eastern side of town, just a few blocks from the ferry docks on the other side of the Butterfly Museum and St. Anne's Church.

Do you allow dogs?

Mission Point loves dogs - of course!  There are a number of rooms in the Straits Lodge which are dog friendly.  We do require that all dogs are arranged in advance by calling 800.833.7711.  A one-time, non-refundable dog cleaning fee of $100 is charged.

How does the Kids Eat Free program work?

Kids under 12 eat free in either Round Island Bar and Grill or Bistro on The Greens off of the kids menu.  Kids do need to be with Mom and Dad (who must be dining off of the regular menu). 

What time is Check In/Check Out?

Check in time is at 4:00p.  Check out time is at 11:00a.

Are there smoking rooms?

No, Mission Point Resort does not allow smoking in any resort building, including all guest rooms.

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes, you can bring your own bike. There is a nominal fee for transporting a bike to the island. We request you bring a bike lock, but we do have some available in the bike rental facility for rent.  Several bike rental racks are located throughout the resort.  

How do I arrange for my luggage to be transported back to the main land dock?

Our bellman will tag and ensure your luggage is transferred back to the appropriate mainland dock.  Your luggage will be held in a secure location to be picked up when you get off the ferry boat on the mainland. We do kindly request at least a 2 hour window for the transfer.

What do I need to know before booking a package?

Package prices are based on the number of adults and children staying in each guestroom. When booking online please ensure the total number of guests is correctly displayed before booking. Nightly rates are subject to change should the number of guests at arrival differ from what is initially reserved. Our packages require a two night minimum stay unless otherwise noted.

All rates are subject to applicable taxes and resort levy which totals 19%. Baggage fees are also not included at $6.00 per adult plus tax. Number of packages are subject to availability and dates may close at anytime. Advance reservations are required and no refunds will be given on unused portions of package inclusions. Packages are not available in conjunction with other discounts, group bookings or during special events.

Deposit of 50% of the total stay price required at the time of booking for each room reservation. Reservations may be canceled 48 hours prior to arrival for full refund of deposit amount and all reservations are subject to a $25.00 cancellation processing fee. All reservations are also subject to our standard booking policies.
